Corbin Bosch made his ODI debut in December 2024.
Nortje was South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, claiming 15 wickets in nine matches during their run to the final.
However, recurring injuries have plagued him, causing him to miss significant cricket action in 2023 and 2024. A stress fracture in his back has now ruled him out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to commence on February 19.

Cricket South Africa confirmed the inclusion of Corbin Bosch in the squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the ongoing tri-series in Pakistan. Additionally, young pacer Kwena Maphaka has been named as a travelling reserve for the Champions Trophy.
The official statement read:

The 30-year-old Bosch, who made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December 2024, replaces the injured Anrich Nortje. Meanwhile, DP World Lions pacer Kwena Maphaka has been added as a travelling reserve.
The board also confirmed that Bosch, Maphaka, and top-order batter Tony de Zorzi will travel to Karachi on Sunday to join the squad for the remainder of the tri-nation ODI series.
Bosch has played just one ODI so far but has experience in domestic cricket, having taken 38 wickets in 32 List A matches at an average of 37.
