Alyssa Healy to Lead UP Warriorz in WPL 2025
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 is set to kick off on February 14, 2025, with 22 matches scheduled over 29 days. The tournament will feature 20 league games, followed by a knockout stage consisting of an Eliminator and the Final.
Five teams will compete in WPL 2025: Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and UP Warriorz.
UP Warriorz had a tough campaign in WPL 2024, finishing fourth with six points from three wins in eight games. Their inconsistent batting performances were a key concern, and they will look to improve in this area for the upcoming season.
Under the leadership of Alyssa Healy, UPW will begin their WPL 2025 journey with a match against Gujarat Giants on Saturday, February 16, at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Deepti Sharma was the standout performer for the team in WPL 2024, scoring 295 runs at an impressive average of 98.33.
UP Warriorz Venues for WPL 2025
UP Warriorz will compete across four venues in WPL 2025: Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. They will start their campaign with two matches in Vadodara, followed by three games in Bengaluru. The team will then head to Lucknow for three matches before completing their league stage.
