One of Gill’s finest ODI innings came against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo.
Chasing a challenging 266 on a sluggish wicket, Gill anchored India’s innings with a superb 121 off 133 balls, smashing eight fours and five sixes. Despite his valiant effort, India fell short by six runs.
2. 130 vs Zimbabwe, Harare (2022)
Gill’s maiden ODI century came in Harare during India’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2022.
Batting at No. 3, he played a match-defining knock of 130 off 97 balls, stitching a crucial 140-run stand with Ishan Kishan for the third wicket. His innings featured 15 fours and a six. India edged past Zimbabwe in a thrilling contest, winning by 13 runs.

Gill’s highest ODI score came in Hyderabad during the first ODI of New Zealand’s tour of India in 2023.
Batting first, he smashed a breathtaking 208, guiding India to a strong total of 349/8. His marathon knock included 19 fours and nine sixes, as he single-handedly shouldered the innings while no other Indian batter crossed 40 runs.
India clinched a 12-run victory, with Gill deservedly earning the Player of the Match award.
