However, persistent rain in Bengaluru forced the cancellation of the game before the toss could even take place, and no balls were bowled. As a result, the match ended with no result, and both teams were awarded one point each.
This outcome was particularly disappointing for KKR, as they needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. With the match abandoned, KKR has now been knocked out of the playoff race.
