MS Dhoni is among the seven players inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2025. On Monday, June 9, the International Cricket Council (ICC) honored MS Dhoni along with six other cricketers by adding them to the ICC Hall of Fame. Alongside Dhoni, four male cricketers and two female cricketers were inducted this year.
The other male cricketers included Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Daniel Vettori, and Matthew Hayden, while Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor were the female cricketers inducted in 2025. Dhoni is now the ninth Indian male cricketer to receive this honor.
The ICC Hall of Fame already includes legendary Indian cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Kapil Dev, Vinoo Mankad, Virender Sehwag, Anil Kumble, and Bishen Singh Bedi. Additionally, two Indian women cricketers, Diana Edulji and Neetu David, are also part of this prestigious group.
MS Dhoni said being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame is an honor he will cherish forever.

After receiving the recognition, MS Dhoni expressed how proud he felt to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which celebrates the achievements of cricketers across generations worldwide.
“To be included in the ICC Hall of Fame, alongside so many legendary players, is truly special. It’s an honor I will cherish forever,” the 43-year-old shared.
MS Dhoni, the former wicket-keeper batsman, captained India to three major ICC titles: the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Under his leadership, India also became the top-ranked Test team in 2009.
Widely regarded as one of India’s greatest captains, Dhoni played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20 Internationals. He scored 4,876 runs in Tests and 10,773 runs in ODIs, finishing his T20 international career with 1,617 runs.
He scored 16 international centuries—six in Tests and ten in ODIs—including a memorable double century of 244 runs against Australia in 2013.
MS Dhoni played his last international match during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup and retired from international cricket in August 2020. However, he remains active in franchise T20 cricket, playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also captained CSK in IPL 2025 when their regular captain was unavailable.
