However, the Indian T20I captain may now face significant trouble. According to NDTV, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to file an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over Yadav’s remarks following the India vs Pakistan group-stage clash.
On 14th September in Dubai, India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, defeated Pakistan by seven wickets. While the match showcased thrilling cricket, it was overshadowed by controversy as Indian players reportedly refused to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts both before and after the game.
Adding fuel to the controversy, Suryakumar Yadav dedicated India’s win to the armed forces involved in “Operation Sindoor” and expressed solidarity with the families affected by the recent Pahalgam terror attack. He made these statements both during the post-match presentation and in the post-match press conference.
PCB Claims Suryakumar Yadav’s Remarks Were Political, Breaching the Spirit of Cricket

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed strong disapproval over comments made by India’s Suryakumar Yadav, stating they were political in nature and “violate the spirit of the game.” The governing body has confirmed that Yadav will be placed under scrutiny.
Former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja also criticized Yadav’s post-match remarks, saying, “My main objection was what was said during the post-match presentation by Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. That statement was the critical issue.”
The controversy escalated after Indian players refused to exchange pleasantries with their Pakistani counterparts, attributing the incident to match referee Andy Pycroft. PCB demanded Pycroft’s removal from the tournament and even threatened to boycott their clash against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) if their concerns were not addressed.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), however, cleared Pycroft of any wrongdoing. The PCB also acknowledged that Pycroft had apologized for the miscommunication. With tensions simmering, India and Pakistan are now set to face each other once again, with the match scheduled for Sunday, 21st September in Dubai.
