Vaibhav Suryavanshi set a new milestone during the India U-19 vs Australia U-19 2nd Youth ODI.
Continuing his impressive form from the Indian Premier League (IPL) and India’s England tour, India Under-19 batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again shone with the bat in the ongoing Youth ODI series against Australia U-19.
In the second Youth ODI between the two sides in Brisbane on Wednesday (September 24), Suryavanshi broke the all-time record for the most sixes in Youth ODI history. The left-handed batsman played a crucial innings, scoring 70 runs off 68 balls, including five boundaries and six sixes, helping India secure a vital victory.
With this innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi not only guided his team to success but also surpassed former India U-19 captain Unmukt Chand’s record for most sixes in Youth ODIs.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi now has 41 sixes in just ten Youth ODI matches. In comparison, Chand had hit 38 sixes in 21 games, taking more than twice the number of matches to reach the mark. Bangladesh’s Zawad Abrar ranks next, with 35 sixes in 22 games.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: India U19 Beat Australia U19 in 2nd Youth ODI to Clinch Three-Match Series

After being asked to bat first, India U19 lost their captain Ayush Mhatre for a duck. However, half-centuries from Vaibhav Suryavanshi (70), Vihaan Malhotra (70), and Abhigyan Kundu (71) helped India post a competitive total of 300 all out.
In response, Australia U19 managed 249 runs, despite a brilliant century from Jayden Draper (107). The Indian bowlers, however, ensured their team remained in control throughout the innings. Skipper Mhatre took three crucial wickets, while Kanishk Chouhan claimed two. Kishan Kumar, RS Ambrish, Khilan Patel, and Vihaan Malhotra chipped in with one wicket each.
With this win, India U19 have sealed the series with one match remaining. They had earlier dominated the hosts in the first ODI, chasing down 226 to win by seven wickets. Vaibhav Suryavanshi leads the run-scoring charts for India with 108 runs from two matches.
