Hales recorded three half-centuries against India, with his most memorable knock coming in the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide. He smashed 86 unbeaten runs, leading England to a dominant 10-wicket win and a spot in the final.
3. Eoin Morgan – 347 runs
Regarded as one of the most influential white-ball captains of England, Eoin Morgan enjoyed batting against India. He scored 347 runs in 16 T20Is against the Men In Blue at an average of 26 and a strike rate of 141.
Morgan’s tally against India included two half-centuries. He played a key role in England’s thrilling three-run victory over India in 2014 in Birmingham, scoring 71 runs and earning the Player of the Match award.
2. Jason Roy – 356 runs
Former opener Jason Roy amassed 356 runs in 15 innings against India in T20Is. Roy’s impressive tally against India includes only one half century, which came in a losing effort in Bristol in 2018.
For a significant period of time, Roy was a key part of England’s white-ball teams, and was a huge contributor to their title-winning campaign at the 2019 World Cup.

England’s current T20I captain, Jos Buttler, tops this list with 498 runs against India in 22 T20Is, scored at an average of 33.2 and strike rate of 145.61. With four fifties, Buttler has hit the most half-centuries against India in T20Is by an England batsman.
His most memorable knock against the Men In Blue came in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final in Adelaide, where he scored an 80* runs to lead England to victory along with Alex Hales.
