The ICC unveiled the latest T20I rankings on Wednesday, with England’s veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid reclaiming the No. 1 spot. Rashid’s consistent performances against India have played a key role in his rise to the top.
Across the three T20Is in the series, Rashid has taken three wickets while maintaining an outstanding economy rate of just 5.60—the best among all bowlers in the series—demonstrating his ability to control the game effectively.

Rashid first claimed the No. 1 ranking for T20I bowlers at the end of 2023 but was overtaken by West Indies’ Akeal Hosein last December. However, he has now reclaimed the top spot, displacing Hosein.
Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy registered his second five-wicket haul in T20Is during the third match in Rajkot. He currently leads the wicket-taking charts in the IND vs ENG series, with 10 scalps in three games.
Chakravarthy made a massive leap in the latest ICC Men’s T20I bowlers’ rankings, climbing 25 spots to secure the fifth position.
England pacer Jofra Archer also made significant gains, moving up 13 places to claim the sixth spot after his impressive 2/33 in Rajkot.

Varma’s phenomenal form, including back-to-back centuries in South Africa and an unbeaten 72* against England in Chennai, has propelled him past Phil Salt. He now holds 832 rating points, just behind Head’s 855.
With Head occupied in the Test series against Sri Lanka, Varma has a golden opportunity to claim the top ranking if he delivers strong performances in the remaining two matches against England.
