Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a disappointing IPL 2024 campaign, finishing fifth in the league stage points table. Despite a strong start, CSK lost momentum towards the end and ended with 14 points from 14 matches, falling short of a playoff spot.
On Sunday, February 16, the BCCI announced the full schedule for IPL 2025. The much-anticipated season will kick off on March 22, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Kolkata. The season will conclude on May 25 at the same venue.
For IPL 2025, CSK will once again play seven games at their home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Interestingly, the franchise will play four of their first six matches in front of their home crowd, a significant advantage as they aim to improve on their previous season’s performance.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the five-time IPL champions, will kick off their 2025 campaign with a thrilling match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 23 in Chennai. The match promises to be an exciting start as the two heavyweights face off in what is always a high-stakes contest.
Throughout the season, CSK will face several strong teams. They will meet Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) twice. These key encounters will be crucial as CSK looks to secure vital points for a playoff spot.
Additionally, CSK will take on Gujarat Titans (GT), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Delhi Capitals (DC) once during the season. This schedule gives CSK a balanced mix of challenges, with a strong home advantage at MA Chidambaram Stadium, where they will play seven of their matches.
CSK will play Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants in away fixtures only, once each.
