Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) endured a disappointing IPL 2024 season, finishing seventh in the league stage with 14 points from 14 matches. This underwhelming campaign led the franchise to part ways with captain KL Rahul ahead of the mega auction.
As the Indian Premier League (IPL) returns for its 18th edition, the action will kick off on March 22, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Kolkata. The final is scheduled to be held at the same venue on May 25.
Led by Rishabh Pant, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play all seven of their home matches at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The team will kick off its IPL 2025 campaign on March 24 with an exciting clash against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. With a fresh leadership approach, LSG aims to make a strong start to the season and improve upon their previous performance. Playing in front of their home crowd, they will look to capitalize on familiar conditions and build momentum as they compete for a spot in the playoffs.
LSG will play Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat Titans (GT), Delhi Capitals (DC), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) twice. Meanwhile, they will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) once. Notably, their matches against RR and KKR will be away fixtures.
