Rinku Singh is all set to represent India in the Asia Cup 2025. The India and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter opened up about his ambitions beyond the T20 format, emphasizing his desire to play Test cricket as well. He also shared his aspirations to be part of India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Rinku Singh has been included in India’s squad for the Asia Cup, which kicks off in the UAE on September 9. Placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, the UAE, and Oman, India will face the UAE on September 10, Pakistan on September 14, and Oman on September 19.
Currently, Rinku Singh is captaining the Meerut City team in the UP T20 League. While his selection for the Asia Cup is seen as a strong vote of confidence from the Indian management, Rinku highlighted that he can contribute across all formats.
“I know fans love it when I hit sixes, and I’m really grateful for that. But my Ranji Trophy average is over 55, and I truly enjoy playing red-ball cricket. I’ve also played two ODIs for India and performed well in one of them,” Rinku Singh told The Times of India.
He made his ODI debut during India’s post-2023 World Cup tour of South Africa, scoring 55 runs across two matches. In List A cricket, Rinku has amassed an impressive 1,997 runs in 62 games, underlining his consistency and versatility as a batsman.
